Behind the Steam: A Collection Exploration Speaker Series
Free for Members, $5 General Admission
Every third Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm
What will you find when you go “behind the steam” with us at the Marshall Steam Museum? Join us every month for the next year as we take a close look at a special item in our collection and then zoom out for a larger discussion with experts and enthusiasts. Our collection goes beyond Stanley steam cars, so tune in every month to see what interesting items we uncover!
PLEASE NOTE: We will be transitioning to hybrid programming (in-person with some recorded components) starting with our June 17 Behind the Steam. Recordings of each program will be made available and can be accessed for the cost of admission (or free for members).
- Behind the Steam: Wedding Bells, June 17 at 7 pm (Hybrid program! Enjoy this program in-person, with a video available online afterwards)
- What were weddings like at the beginning of the 20th century? Learn about the traditions of these early weddings through the lens of Clarence and Esther Marshall. The Marshalls, who would have celebrated their 100th anniversary this month, left behind incredible artifacts related to their wedding, including a slice of their cake! This program is done in partnership with the Auburn Valley State Park and will take place at the Auburn Heights mansion. Program will consist of time to explore the mansion, view incredible artifacts and enjoy a short talk about early wedding traditions and the Marshalls.
- Stay tuned for more events! This program runs the whole year and new topics will be released every month.
We are always looking for new ideas and partners! Email firstname.lastname@example.org to connect.
